Life is going to ask a lot of you. You’ll face seasons that feel light and free, and others that feel like you’re dragging a suitcase full of bricks uphill. There will be responsibilities, pain, expectations, and hard decisions — and in those moments, you may find yourself wondering why God hasn’t taken the weight away.
But Jesus never promised you wouldn’t have burdens. He promised that with Him, they wouldn’t break you.
"Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest… For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30)
Think of that heavy suitcase. On your own, it’s exhausting to carry. But put wheels on it — nothing inside has changed, but how you move with it is different. That’s what walking with Jesus is like. He doesn’t always change the load, but He changes how you bear it. Your burden will become lighter though your circumstances haven’t changed.
When you walk with Him — in prayer, in Scripture, in faith — your burdens shift. You gain strength where you once had weakness. You gain peace where there was pressure. You begin to understand that the rest Jesus offers is not the absence of hardship, but the presence of help.
So don’t run from the hard things. Don’t wait for life to be perfect to feel peace. Just stay close to Him. Let your faith be the wheels under your burden.
And always remember: God is not asking you to be perfect — He’s asking you to trust the One who is.
